License Policy

Jurnal MSA (Matematika dan Statistika serta Aplikasinya)

1. General Provisions

Jurnal MSA supports the open dissemination and reuse of scholarly works through a clear, transparent, and internationally recognized publication licensing framework consistent with the principles of Open Access.

The journal recommends the adoption of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license to facilitate access to, sharing, adaptation, and reuse of published scholarly articles, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original authors.

The license shall apply to articles once it has been formally adopted by the journal and identified in the relevant article's publication information.

2. Publication License

The recommended publication license is:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)

Official License URL:

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

CC BY 4.0 is an open license that permits the use, reproduction, distribution, adaptation, and redistribution of licensed scholarly works for any purpose, including commercial purposes, subject to compliance with its attribution requirements and other applicable terms.

The license applies internationally and provides permissions as specified in its official legal terms.

3. Permissions Granted Under the License

Under CC BY 4.0, users are permitted to undertake the following activities.

3.1 Sharing

Users may copy, download, store, reproduce, and redistribute licensed articles in any medium or format.

3.2 Adaptation

Users may remix, transform, translate, modify, and build upon the licensed material, including the creation of derivative works.

3.3 Reuse

Users may reuse licensed materials for educational, research, scholarly publishing, technological development, and commercial purposes.

Additional permission from the copyright holder is not required for activities expressly permitted under the license, provided that all applicable license conditions are satisfied.

4. Attribution Requirements

Users who share or adapt licensed articles must provide appropriate attribution to the original authors and comply with the terms of CC BY 4.0.

Appropriate attribution includes:

  1. Providing appropriate credit to the original authors.

  2. Retaining applicable copyright and attribution notices.

  3. Providing a link to the CC BY 4.0 license.

  4. Identifying the original source of publication, including Jurnal MSA and the article DOI or URL, where reasonably practicable.

  5. Indicating whether modifications, translations, or adaptations have been made.

  6. Avoiding any suggestion that the original authors or Jurnal MSA endorse the reuse or adaptation without authorization.

Attribution must be provided in a reasonable manner appropriate to the medium, format, and context of reuse.

5. Adaptations and Derivative Works

CC BY 4.0 permits users to create and distribute adaptations of licensed works, including translations, educational materials, modified illustrations, and other derivative content.

Users must identify any modifications and provide appropriate attribution to the original work.

Derivative works are not required to be distributed under the same license. However, the distribution of adapted materials must not prevent recipients from exercising the rights granted under CC BY 4.0 in relation to the original licensed material.

6. Commercial Use

CC BY 4.0 permits the commercial use of licensed materials.

Commercial activities may include reproduction, redistribution, republication, or incorporation of licensed materials into commercial products and services.

Users must comply with the attribution requirements and must not imply endorsement, affiliation, or approval by the original authors or Jurnal MSA unless such authorization has been explicitly granted.

7. Reuse in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computational Research

Jurnal MSA encourages the reuse of published scholarly materials to support advancements in mathematics, statistics, mathematical modeling, data analysis, and computational research.

Permitted reuse may include:

  • Scholarly citation and critical discussion.

  • Development of educational and instructional materials.

  • Reproduction or adaptation of licensed figures and illustrations.

  • Preparation of subsequent academic works.

  • Reproduction and verification of research findings.

  • Development of interdisciplinary research.

The license applicable to a scholarly article does not automatically extend to software, datasets, or supplementary materials subject to separate licensing arrangements.

The use of such materials remains governed by their respective licenses and applicable terms.

8. Third-Party Materials

Third-party materials included in published articles are not automatically covered by the article's CC BY 4.0 license if they are expressly excluded or subject to separate rights and licensing conditions.

Users must review the applicable copyright and licensing notices before reproducing, distributing, or adapting third-party figures, tables, datasets, illustrations, or other protected materials.

Where necessary, users are responsible for obtaining permission from the relevant rights holders.

9. Additional Restrictions

Users may not impose additional legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict recipients from exercising the rights granted under CC BY 4.0.

The license does not automatically grant rights concerning trademarks, privacy, publicity, or other rights outside its scope.

The exercise of licensed permissions must comply with applicable laws and the conditions of the license.

10. License Information and Application

The license applicable to each published article must be clearly identified in its publication record or article metadata.

License information should include:

  • The official name of the license.

  • A link to the applicable license terms.

  • Relevant attribution and licensing notices.

Articles published under an earlier licensing arrangement remain subject to the applicable terms of that arrangement.

A subsequent change in the journal's licensing policy does not automatically replace the licensing terms of previously published articles.

11. License Statement

Recommended License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, users are permitted to share, copy, redistribute, remix, transform, adapt, and build upon licensed materials for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate attribution is given, a link to the license is supplied, and any changes are indicated.
