Readers, researchers, authors, and other members of the academic community may submit post-publication comments to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal's official communication channels or Open Journal Systems (OJS), where applicable.

Submissions should include:

  1. The title, author information, publication year, and DOI or URL of the article being discussed.

  2. A clear description of the scientific issue, question, criticism, or proposed correction.

  3. Supporting arguments, mathematical demonstrations, statistical evidence, computational results, or relevant references.

  4. The name, institutional affiliation, and contact information of the person submitting the comment, where appropriate.

  5. A declaration of relevant conflicts of interest.

Comments must be written in a professional, respectful, and academically appropriate manner.

Submissions containing personal attacks, discriminatory language, defamatory statements, unsupported accusations, or irrelevant content will not be considered for publication as scholarly discussion.

Anonymous reports involving serious research integrity concerns may nevertheless be assessed when supported by credible and verifiable evidence.

6. Editorial Assessment of Post-Publication Comments

All post-publication submissions will undergo an initial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor.

The assessment considers:

  1. Relevance to the published article and the journal's scientific scope.

  2. Clarity and scientific validity of the arguments presented.

  3. Adequacy of supporting evidence and references.

  4. Significance of the issues raised.

  5. Compliance with academic ethics and professional communication standards.

  6. Potential implications for the reliability and integrity of the published article.

The editorial team may request clarification or additional supporting documentation before making a decision.

When necessary, submissions involving complex mathematical proofs, statistical analyses, or computational methods may be evaluated by independent subject-matter experts.

The journal reserves the right to decline comments that do not meet its scientific or ethical requirements.

7. Author Response and Right of Reply

When a post-publication comment raises substantive scientific questions or criticisms, Jurnal MSA may invite the original authors to provide a written response.

Authors are encouraged to respond constructively and provide appropriate explanations, supporting evidence, mathematical arguments, statistical analyses, or additional documentation.

The editorial team will provide authors with a reasonable opportunity to address the issues raised.

Author responses may be evaluated by the handling editor or independent reviewers when appropriate.

If both the original comment and the author response meet the journal's publication requirements, they may be published or made accessible through the journal's designated scholarly communication channels.

A failure to respond does not automatically establish that the concerns are valid. However, serious and credible concerns may still require further editorial assessment or investigation.

8. Editorial Decision-Making Process

Jurnal MSA applies a transparent and evidence-based decision-making process for post-publication discussions.

The process consists of the following stages:

Stage 1 — Submission and Registration

The editorial team receives and records the post-publication comment, question, or concern.

Stage 2 — Initial Editorial Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor evaluates the relevance, scientific significance, supporting evidence, and ethical appropriateness of the submission.

Stage 3 — Author Clarification

When appropriate, the original authors are invited to provide clarification or a formal response.

Stage 4 — Independent Scientific Evaluation

If the issues require specialized assessment, the editor may request independent expert review.

Stage 5 — Editorial Decision

Based on the evaluation, the Editorial Board may take one of the following actions:

  1. Accept for Publication: The comment or scholarly correspondence is accepted for publication or presentation through an appropriate journal communication channel.

  2. Request Revision: The contributor is requested to improve the clarity, scientific arguments, evidence, or presentation of the submission.

  3. Invite Author Response: The original authors are invited to provide a formal clarification or response.

  4. Refer for Further Investigation: Significant concerns regarding research reliability or publication ethics are referred for additional editorial or institutional investigation.

  5. Decline the Submission: The comment is not accepted when it lacks scientific relevance, sufficient evidence, or compliance with ethical communication standards.

  6. Initiate Corrective Action: The journal initiates an appropriate correction, expression of concern, or retraction process when the findings warrant such action.

Stage 6 — Communication and Documentation

The editorial decision is communicated to the relevant parties, and the assessment process is documented in the journal's editorial records.

9. Corrections to Published Articles

Jurnal MSA recognizes that errors may occasionally be identified after publication despite appropriate editorial evaluation and peer review.

When significant errors are confirmed, the journal may issue a formal correction.

Corrections may address:

  1. Errors in mathematical notation, equations, or derivations.

  6. Other factual or editorial errors affecting the accuracy of the published record.

Corrections are appropriate when the identified errors can be adequately addressed without fundamentally undermining the reliability of the article's main findings or conclusions.

Correction notices will clearly identify the original article, explain the changes made, and be linked to the published version.

Minor typographical errors that do not affect scientific interpretation may be handled through appropriate editorial procedures.

10. Expressions of Concern and Retractions

If a post-publication discussion identifies serious concerns regarding the reliability, validity, or ethical integrity of a published article, Jurnal MSA may initiate further investigation in accordance with its research misconduct and publication ethics policies.

Depending on the evidence and investigation findings, the journal may take the following actions:

10.1. Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious and credible questions about the integrity or reliability of an article remain unresolved, particularly when further investigation is necessary.

10.2. Retraction

An article may be retracted when substantial evidence demonstrates that its findings or conclusions are unreliable due to serious errors, data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or other significant research integrity problems.

Retractions are intended to correct the scholarly record and protect the scientific community rather than to punish authors.

Retraction notices will clearly state the reasons for the action and remain permanently linked to the original publication.

The original article will generally remain accessible with a clear indication of its retracted status.

11. Ethical Standards for Scholarly Discussion

All participants in post-publication discussions must adhere to the principles of academic honesty, professional respect, scientific objectivity, and responsible scholarly communication.
