Article Process Charge

1. General Publication Fee Policy

Jurnal MSA (Matematika dan Statistika serta Aplikasinya) is an open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia, and managed by the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology.

To support sustainable journal management, improve editorial services, and facilitate the dissemination of scientific research, Jurnal MSA applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication.

This publication fee policy has been effective since Volume 13, Issue 2, 2025.

Jurnal MSA is committed to implementing a transparent, reasonable, and accountable publication fee policy while maintaining editorial independence and adhering to established principles of scholarly publication ethics.

2. Summary of Author Fees

The following table provides an overview of the fees associated with manuscript submission, peer review, and article publication in Jurnal MSA.

General Provisions:

  1. The Article Processing Charge has been effective since Volume 13, Issue 2, 2025.

  2. Publication fees are charged per article, regardless of the number of authors.

  3. Payment is required only after the manuscript receives an official acceptance decision.

  4. No separate fees are charged for manuscript submission or peer review.

  5. Payment does not guarantee manuscript acceptance and does not influence editorial decisions.

  6. Printed copies, if requested and available, are subject to additional charges.

3. Article Submission Fee

Jurnal MSA does not charge authors for submitting manuscripts.

Article Submission Fee: IDR 0 (Free).

Authors may submit manuscripts through the official Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform without making any payment during the initial submission stage.

All submitted manuscripts undergo administrative screening and editorial evaluation in accordance with the journal's policies.

Manuscript submission does not guarantee acceptance for publication.

4. Peer Review Fee

Jurnal MSA does not charge authors a separate fee for peer review.

Manuscripts that satisfy the initial editorial screening requirements undergo a double-blind peer review process in accordance with the journal's Review Process Policy.

Peer review is conducted objectively and independently by qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's scientific field.

No payment guarantees acceptance or influences the scientific evaluation of a manuscript.

5. Article Processing Charge (APC)

Jurnal MSA applies an Article Processing Charge to manuscripts that have been officially accepted for publication.

The publication fees are as follows:

5.1. Indonesian Authors

The Article Processing Charge for Indonesian authors is:

IDR 250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand Indonesian rupiah) per article.

5.2. International Authors

The Article Processing Charge for authors outside Indonesia is:

USD 20 (twenty United States dollars) per article.

These publication fees have been applicable since Volume 13, Issue 2, 2025.

The Article Processing Charge is applied per article rather than per individual author.

6. Scope of the Article Processing Charge

The Article Processing Charge supports the management and scholarly publishing activities of Jurnal MSA.

The fee may contribute to the following activities:

  1. Journal administration and publication management.

  2. Operational support for editorial and peer review processes.

  3. Manuscript editing and preparation for publication.

  4. Article formatting, layout, and typesetting.

  5. Maintenance of the electronic publishing platform.

  6. Management of article metadata and publication archives.

  7. Provision of open access to published articles.

  8. Maintenance and improvement of journal publishing services.

The implementation of publication fees is intended to support the journal's operational sustainability without compromising the independence of scientific evaluation.

7. Payment Schedule and Procedures

Payment of the Article Processing Charge is required only after a manuscript has received an official acceptance decision from the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor.

Authors are not required to pay publication fees during initial submission or before the completion of the peer review process.

After a manuscript is accepted, the journal management team will provide payment instructions through the official communication channels of Jurnal MSA.

Payments must be made only through payment methods and account information officially communicated or confirmed by the journal.

Authors are encouraged to retain proof of payment for administrative verification.

Payment of the Article Processing Charge does not influence peer review outcomes or manuscript acceptance decisions.

8. Printed Version Fee

In addition to electronic publication, Jurnal MSA may provide printed copies of published journal issues upon request.

Authors requesting printed copies may be charged additional fees beyond the Article Processing Charge.

Additional charges are determined according to printing requirements, production costs, and applicable journal management arrangements.

9. Editorial Independence and Fee Transparency

Jurnal MSA guarantees that payment of the Article Processing Charge does not influence scientific assessment, reviewer recommendations, or editorial decisions.

All manuscripts are evaluated based on:

  1. Originality and scientific contribution.

  2. Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.

  3. Appropriateness and validity of research methodology.

  4. Quality of analysis and reliability of research findings.

  5. Clarity of scientific presentation and argumentation.

  6. Compliance with research and publication ethics.

Jurnal MSA does not offer automatic manuscript acceptance or guaranteed publication in exchange for additional payments.

Decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection are based exclusively on editorial assessment and independent peer review.

10. Open Access to Published Articles

Jurnal MSA adopts an open-access publishing policy for all published scholarly articles.

Readers may access and read articles available through the journal's official website without subscription fees.

The Article Processing Charge imposed on authors does not alter the journal's commitment to supporting the open dissemination of scientific knowledge.

The reuse, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation of published articles are governed by the journal's Copyright Policy and License Policy.

Jurnal MSA is committed to providing clear and accessible information regarding publication fees and payment requirements through its official website.

12. Policy Statement

Jurnal MSA applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 250,000 for Indonesian authors and USD 20 for international authors, effective since Volume 13, Issue 2, 2025.
